Inquiries come in while you are on the job

  1. Three inquiries from yesterday have not been answered, and the first job starts in half an hour.

  2. A customer calls while you are on the ladder. You call back in the evening, but by then they have booked someone else.

  3. You write quotes at the kitchen table and wonder why your competitor always shows up first on Google.

This is where the website and the heroes come in.

Seen from the customer

What customers check before they call a contractor

Customers usually open your site on their phone before they call, and if they do not find answers fast, they try the next one.

Once the site is up

Marketing for contractors that you can see the results of

The website turns visits into phone calls, but people have to find it first, and that is where Google and ads come in.

The heroes propose, and nothing is published until you approve it.

Questions and answers

Common questions about contractor website design

What contractors and tradespeople ask most often before they pick a website or marketing.

How much does a contractor website cost?

The website has a fixed price: a landing page is $1,000, Website Start $3,000 and Website Plus $5,000, all excl. tax. Website Start fits most contractors. Hosting, maintenance and the app are added from $200 a month, with a 12-month commitment and then 3 months' notice.

How long does it take to build a contractor website?

A contractor website usually takes 1 to 4 weeks from the day you say yes to the quote. We write the copy. What most often takes time is the photos, so start collecting pictures from finished jobs now.

Can I update the website myself?

Yes, the website is built in WordPress, so you can change text and images without knowing how to code. You get training when the site is done and 30 days of free support after launch. The hosting and maintenance agreement also includes support time each month for changes you do not want to make yourself. You own both the website and the domain.

How do we get found when people search for “carpenter” or “painter” and the town they live in?

You get found locally when your Google Business Profile and your website say the same thing about trade and area. The profile shows on the map and needs the right category, service area, photos from jobs and regular reviews. Setup is included in Website Start and Website Plus. On the website, write about jobs you have done in the area, not just a swapped place name, because Google sees through that.

We already have enough work, so do we need a website?

Maybe not to get more jobs, but to get the right ones. People who got your name from a neighbor usually look you up before they call, and if they find nothing, they get unsure. On the website you can show more of the jobs you want and be clear about where you work. Apprentices and new skilled workers look at it too.

Should we show prices on the website?

Yes, at least enough that the customer understands whether you are in the right price range. An hourly rate, a call-out fee or a price range for common jobs makes it easier to get in touch and gives you fewer inquiries that never go anywhere. Be clear about what the price includes, such as materials. For jobs that can be priced from a few details, a price calculator may be worth it.

Does Google Ads work for contractors?

Yes, often, especially for jobs where the customer wants help soon, like “carpenter Portland”. What decides it is that the landing page answers the search and that you see which ads bring in inquiries. If your calendar is full, you may as well wait. Google Ads is part of the growth packages from $1,000 a month, and you pay the ad budget directly to Google, on top.
